Carlin Stiehl is a photojournalist and commercial photographer in Los Angeles.

He has worked intimately inside communities across the United States, from metropolitan centers to rural America, documenting human-environmental relationships and humanizing the socio-political issues that are too often viewed from a distance.

Carlin holds a B.S. in Film and Television with a concentration in Marine Sciences from Boston University, where he developed a foundation in narrative documentary storytelling. He later produced multimedia work in Ethiopia before moving into documentary and commercial film production in Los Angeles. After graduate study at Ohio University's School of Visual Communication, he contributed to newsrooms at The Chesapeake Bay Program, The Kalamazoo Gazette and The Boston Globe, producing both daily editorial and long-form documentary work. He is currently completing his master's thesis.

His editorial work has been published by the Los Angeles Times, Reuters, The Associated Press, The Washington Post, Bloomberg, Rolling Stone and others.
